SLUK - Conspiracy (PIF 49)

Created and recorded by SLUK (aka Runar Karlsen) from July to November 1988, at the Art Academy in Trondheim, Norway. Sound sources made out of various finds and remnants left by TMV (Trøndelag Mekaniske Verksted – Trøndelag Mechanical Workshop). Cover made out of photos and material from that time. This was SLUKs impression of what was going on at that time.

Karlsen has been an musician, composer, painter, photographer and so much more, since the early 1980´s. Here is for the first time two albums he made back then, and Paranoia Is Freedom can´t express how proud we are that SLUK licensed these two albums to our free DL label.

SLUK - Field Painting (PIF 48)

These pieces are as on SLUKs debut album «Conspiracy» created and recorded by Runar Karlsen. Most of these are recorded in 1988, at the Art Academy in Trondheim which then were situated at TMV (Trøndelag Mekaniske Verksted – Trøndelag Mechanical Workshop). These was without any instruments. Track #5, #10 & #11 were recorded in 1989 using both a guitar and a Korg. #2 «Karianne» refers to the song «Karianne» by Kjøtt/Helge Gaarder, live version.

All digitalized from the master tape cassettes in 2025 and remixed by SLUK. He took all photos used on cover. Front was of a TV screen, inside and backside are photos of paintings Karlsen did at the Art Academy in 1988 and 1989.

It is an honor that Paranoia Is Freedom is allowed to release these two treasures. This is sound that hardly anyone has heard before.
